The Centro Infantil Boldrini is a reference hospital in Latin-America, acts 33 years ago in the care of children and adolescents with cancer and blood diseases.

The Boldrini Hospital is an example of hope, of social commitment, however there is plenty to do: to achieve complete compliance, promoting the development of scientific research to assist in the understanding of cancer, which constitute the pillars of performance of this entity. For both, partnerships with universities, government, society and entrepreneurs are crucial.

How to Help Somalia

Options For Famine Relief
In the scorched-by-drought Horn of Africa, the famine continues to take its biggest toll on the most vulnerable. In southern Somalia alone, the crisis has killed 29,000 young children in the last 90 days

Many organizations and funds have mobilized to provide relief:

UNHCR has asked for $136.3 million and suggests donations such as $7, which provides therapeutic food for a malnourished child.

The British Red Cross and The Kenya Red Cross are both accepting funds online or through mail to first mitigate the crisis and then help people in the region restore their livelihoods.

Mercy Corps has helped deliver water to 16 Kenyan villages in the last few days, providing relief to almost 120,000 people. The organization is accepting donations to continue expanding its work.

Oxfam, in conjunction with Save The Children, is appealing for $144 million. Any amount is welcome, but the Oxfam site suggests $50 to provide 200 people a day's supply of clean water or $100 to feed a family of six more than two weeks.

The International Rescue Committee is accepting donations that will provide medical screenings, expand water-supply systems and offer help for pregnant women, among other efforts.

The ELCA World Hunger Relief is accepting donations to provide immediate aid to refugee camps in the Horn of Africa. One hundred percent of donations will be used for regional relief, including filling a food distribution gap by providing enriched porridge to children and the elderly who are too weak to eat dry food.

A donation to Action Aid will help deliver emergency supplies of food and water, and provide support, ensuring people don't become reliant on food aid.

The U.N. Children's Fund asks for help in assisting the more than 2 million children who are malnourished.

International Medical Corps' is accepting donations as it ships food and oil to four refugee camps. The Corps will also construct additional latrines and bathing areas.

Mission: The AACC - Associação de Apoio a Criança com Cancer, is a non-profit social organization whose mission is give support bio psychosocial and existential for children and adolescents with cancer and their families.

Vision: Be a reference in research, treatment and care of children and adolescents with cancer.

Values: Ethics, Transparency and Improvement of Human Dignity, are the principles that guide the work.

History: AACC was born on 11 April 1985 on the initiative of José Marcus Rotta and your wife Wanir Leo Cavalcanti Rotta, after experience in a support house in Seattle, USA, from November 1983 to April 1984, as a result of treatment his son James, a victim of leukemia.

The couple's initiative found support in a group of parents with children with cancer, in order to accommodate children living outside São Paulo City when they need to perform cancer treatment. The families who lived on the outskirts of Sao Paulo, which came from the state or other parts of Brazil and neighboring countries had nowhere to stay with the patient. So, many times, staying in hostels or in road and can not provide adequate nutrition and hygiene to patients and eventually dropping out of treatment and returning to the place of origin. The primary need was, therefore, to these patients stay offering conditions of proximity to the treatment site.

Objectives: Support to cancer research - Collaborate in developing and training of health professionals - Training of volunteers - Construction of a reference center dedicated exclusively to cancer treatment and rehabilitation of children with cancer

The AACC currently has a staff of 20 employees, 120 volunteers and more than 1,500 monthly donors between individuals and corporations, and numerous pontuals donors.

Help the children building a new hospital - Only in the State of São Paulo/BR, there are more than 1,800 new cases of childhood cancer per year. Currently, 65.6% of children can not find appropriate care.

Hasdei Naomi - Food to the Needy

Hasdei Naomi was founded in 1984 by Rabbi Yosef Cohen.

While sending his small children to school, he noticed that there were children arriving with torn briefcases and worn out clothing and he was deeply disturbed by this sight and felt badly for those families.

Rabbi Cohen, went, himself, from door to door, collecting food products and distributed them to the poor. After a while an entire array of volunteers was added, storage warehouses were formed, mobile collection-carts were distributed for collecting products. And today, Hasdei Naomi supports over a thousand families on a permanent basis as well as many others from time to time.

“Hasdei Naomi” takes care of those children and sends their families a box of basic products, such as canned goods, oil, vegetables, bread, laundry powder and sweets for the child. Dozens of products are being sent every month to more than 5000 families. The value of one box is about 500 NIS (today 500 Israeli shekels = 143.95 U.S. dollars).

The boxes which are given to needy families and widows, are distributed by a messenger from a courier service, in order to disguise the purpose of the mission and to spare the women and children the unnecessary embarrassment.

Dil Se envisions a humane and just society, which is free from hunger, hatred, violence, injustice and every form of deprivation which denies to people their social and economic right; where every person has equitable access to life of hope and dignity.

The Dil Se Campaign was launched in June 2005.The Government of Delhi identified the Centre for Equity Studies (CES) as the nodal agency for managing residential homes for street children in allocated government buildings. Since then CES has been coordinating the Dil Se Campaign in managing these residential homes in Delhi and later in Hyderabad.

The Centre for Equity Studies (CES) was founded in August 2000. It is an autonomous institution engaged in research and advocacy on issues of social injustice. It seeks to enquire into the nature and causes of social injustice and inequity and to collectively find methods of moving towards a more equitable world. The Children-Youth Orchestra of Guitars

The Children-Youth Orchestra of Guitars of Children's Home in Sao Paulo - Brazil, plans to offer an alternative to a new life project. Provide opportunities for young people with musical skills, to graduate and be multipliers in their social sphere.

SOS Children's Villages - Brazil

SOS Children's Villages is active in 132 countries and territories worldwide. The variety of this international work is brought together by the umbrella organisation SOS-Kinderdorf International, which unites all of the autonomous national associations.



SOS Children's Village of Sao Bernardo do Campo - SP, Brazil, is located in a wildlife sanctuary about 35 kilometers southeast of San Paulo City. SOS Children's Village of Sao Bernardo do Campo was built on a five acre wooded site near a dam and opened its doors in April 1970.

SOS Children's Village consists of twelve houses, where up to 81 children can find a new home. In addition, a house called SOS Aunts (SOS mother trainees or family helpers who support the SOS mothers during their daily work and fill in for them when they are sick or on vacation), and an area of administration and service. Children's Village SOS Children usually attend local schools.

An SOS Social Centre provides care diary up to 165 pre-school children from the local community. An SOS Youth Facility in the city sleeps up to 24 young people from SOS Children's Village. Young people tend to move from the SOS Children's Village SOS Youth mechanism when they start a vocational training course or go for higher education. With the support of young skilled workers, young people develop realistic perspectives for the future, learn to take responsibility and increasingly make their own decisions. They are encouraged to develop team spirit and create contacts with relatives and friends as well as with authorities and potential employers.

Save a Child’s Heart - SACH

Save a Child’s Heart (SACH) is an Israeli-based international humanitarian project, whose mission is to improve the quality of pediatric cardiac care for children from developing countries who suffer from heart disease and to create centers of competence in these countries. SACH is totally dedicated to the idea that every child deserves the best medical treatment available, regardless of the child's nationality, religion, color, gender or financial situation.

SACH is motivated by the age-old Jewish tradition of Tikkun Olam – repairing the world. By mending the hearts of children, regardless of their origin, SACH is contributing to a better and more peaceful future for all of our children.

The SACH mission is achieved through:
- Providing life-saving cardiac surgery and other life saving procedures for children from developing countries at the Wolfson Medical Center in Holon, Israel;
- Providing a full outreach training program for the medical personnel from these countries in Israel;
- Leading surgical and teaching missions to partner countries in the developing world;
- Holding pre-operative and follow-up cardiology clinics in Israel and abroad.



Help Children
- The Children brought to Israel are treated at the Wolfson Medical Center in Holon and hosted at the Children’s home in nearby Azor.
- Since 1995, Save a Child's Heart (SACH) has treated more than 2,400 children suffering from congenital and rheumatic heart disease aging from infancy to 18 years of age from the “four corners of the Earth” - 42 countries where adequate medical care is unavailable.
- 40% of the children who underwent cardiac surgeries are from Africa; 49% are from the Palestinian Authority, Jordan, Iraq and Morocco; 4% are from Eastern Europe and the Americas and 7% are from Asia.
- The annual number of children treated by SACH has grown dramatically from 48 cases in 1996 to over 200 in 2009.
- At any given moment there are thousands of children suffering from heart disease around the world who require our assistance.

Childhood Brazil

Childhood Brazil is an "arm" of the World Childhood Foundation (Childhood), an organization founded in 1999 by Silvia Renate Sommerlath, Queen Silvia of Sweden, to defend children's rights and promote better living conditions for children in situations of vulnerability worldwide.

Besides Brazil, Childhood also has offices in Sweden, the United States and Germany, and supported over 500 projects in 16 countries.

Childhood Brazil works to protect children against abuse and sexual exploitation. With this focus, the organization develops its own programs at a regional or national level and supports projects in different locations.

The Aleh Foundation - One Life at a Time

The Aleh Foundation was formed in 1984 by a group of women to help cope with the staggering need for disabled children in Israel.



In 1989 a delegation from Israel reached out to Rabbi Shlomo Braun to establish a US fundraising office and expand the Aleh Foundation’s public relations and fundraising activities. The Aleh Foundation opened its first office in the United States in
1989, and developed a network of more than 30,000 friends throughout the USA who became staunch supporters of our activities. With the Aleh Foundation’s help, the rehabilitation centers in Israel grew from a hospice program of 23 children to become the nation’s largest provider of educational rehabilitative services to severely developmentally disabled children operating in four different cities in Israel.

The Aleh Foundation hosts an array of successful fundraising events in the Gotham, The Museum of Jewish Heritage, The Marriot, as well as parlor meetings in different locations. Aleh Foundation hosts Gala Events in Los Angeles as well as Chicago and other locations in USA. Prominent Leaders and celebrities from the USA and Israel join our elite circle of friends in our state-of-the-art fund-raising projects. Aleh Foundation organizes many different Bar-Bat Mitzvah Projects in schools or custom-tailored to their needs and School Projects instilling chesed in their curriculum and in their every day lives.

In addition to funds, the Aleh Foundation also sends highly specialized equipment to Israel for use by disabled children, including therapeutic communication toys; specialized cups and spoons; custom designed carriages (See illustration) and wheelchairs, hard-to obtain medicines, clothing and many personal items, all donated by generous supporters.

The Aleh Foundation is now expanding its services to include other select Israeli institutions in the areas of:

Miracles Happen at Meshi!

Meshi was founded in 1998 by Hadassah Zuravin and her daughter Lifsha Feldman, who refused to accept a neurologist’s dire prognosis for their granddaughter and daughter, Ruchama. Although the infant’s disabilities seemed overwhelming, these women set their sights on creating a new, unprecedented rehabilitation center for Ruchama and countless other children in desperate need.



Since its inception, Meshi has set a new standard for the care and education of children with severe neurological and muscular disabilities. The handpicked staff has been given the freedom to initiate the world’s top treatments to provide the very best care. Like Ruchama, Meshi’s children are now making truly gigantic strides to reach their potential---and beyond.

Today, 196 children, from age six months to 13 years are enrolled in Meshi’s nursery, kindergarten and school. Due to a grave shortage of space, nearly 70% of all new applicants must be turned away.

The unflagging, grassroots efforts of Meshi’s founders, staff and parents has resulted in the creation of a rehabilitative center like no other. Its one-on-one care, wide range of intensive therapies, unique client-centered approach, innovative and pioneering techniques, and top sophisticated equipment combine to create an unprecedented framework for treating and educating severely disabled children.
At the start, Meshi worked in partnership with Jerusalem’s Alyn Hospital, until Meshi’s growth compelled the establishment of its own facility. In 2001, the Donald Berman Meshi Educational and Rehabilitative Center in Jerusalem opened its doors.

Children residing outside Jerusalem began enrolling as well, and soon children from across the world started coming for Meshi’s intensive summer therapy sessions.
By 2003, Meshi’s student population had grown—and so had the students. That year the Meshi School was opened, today serving grades one through seven.

Meshi’s physical facilities have constantly been forced to expand to meet the needs of the rapidly-increasing student body. The Early Childhood Center has been repeatedly renovated. Nearby, the Meshi School is housed in a main building, plus an adjacent apartment for the overflow. Unfortunately, the distance between those facilities—and the need to go outdoors-- places a particular hardship on the children.
